To Yer Good Health, From Little Hulton

To Yer Good Health, From Little Hulton
Date: Saturday 12th April
Time: 11am – 6pm
Location Bloc Project, Sheffield, S1 4RB

I’ll be going on a trip to Sheffield with the Little Hulton series (and hopefully a few other artworks from friends, too).

This series does not tell THE story of Little Hulton, this series tells one story of many and what I’ve enjoyed most is seeing how each panel is a prompt for people to spin their own yarns about growing up in Little Hulton and other towns across the North West and beyond.

I’d like to experiment with new ways of storytelling and I’m currently questioning whether the stories people share in response should be captured or whether it’s more about making the space for other stories to be told?

This is what I’ll be exploring @blocprojects on Saturday the 12th of April, I hope to see you there and hear your story!

Thank you to everyone who has supported the project so far:

@punk4pay for inviting me to share it during one of your poetry open mic nights.

@saan1mcr and @victoriatheatresalford for the opportunity to tell the story to raise money and awareness for the regeneration of the Victoria Theatre in Salford.

@statmagazine and @spinnersmillleigh for the encouragement to share it with new audiences in new ways!

@salford_museum and their Local History Archives

@neo_artists for the space to create the work

@bromleysart for the brilliant materials!
